OUR Manifesto our manifesto gives us direction, a checklist for profound work.
We want our work to be purpose driven, we want to be innovative and we want it to better things. To do something for the planet, the community, the economy. We want to find ways to be impactful and we want to produce profound work. Our manifesto gives us direction. It works as a checklist that benchmarks our efforts.
WE NEED TO BE FAIR. BORDERS ARE A FICTIVE CONCEPT ANYWAYS.
Country borders are a human made concept. Waste that’s produced in one country won’t stop on any border, it’s a globalized circle. Same with working conditions, regulations and pretty much any other aspect of business. There is only this one, interconnected global habitat. It’s time to think truly globalized on a fair basis. What you don’t want at your place you shouldn’t do elsewhere.
WE NEED TO MAKE EVERY PROJECT COUNT.
In a world of abundance pretty much every product is one product too much. Hard thing for an agency that predominantly builds New Hardware. So we need to make every project count, because every project is an opportunity to better things. To do something for the community, the planet, our daily life.
WE NEED TO EMBRACE DECENTRALIZATION.
Individual big moves bring global impact. Local markets became global economics long ago. We need to find friends and partners on a global scale. The world really is flat. On a local level we need to consider New Work and incorporate New Work into our procedures. Work and especially collaborative work must work for anybody, the high achiever, the single mom, the young family...
WE NEED TO BUILD NEW HARDWARE
A new color doesn’t make a new product. Adding bluetooth neither does. New products need to be major leaps. Leaps that have the potential to make a dent, to be impactful, to better things. Products that enable. New Hardware. The hope is that in aggregation a huge sum of New Hardware Products play a part in enabling a world 2.0. Pretty much all sustainability projects are triggered by intelligent, major leap hardware. We talk about tech based design that brings impact, beneficial collaboration, practiced collegiality on a global basis.
WE NEED TO DESIGN TRUTHFULLY SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS.
Incremental improvements are a drop in the ocean. It’s going concern that leads to proven, without achieving great results. We need truthfully sustainable solutions. Big moves for a world 2.0. Cradle to cradle, sustainable materials, sustainable processes though the whole value chain, having the endgame in mind.
WE NEED TO BE IN A PERMANENT BETA STATE OF MIND.
We live in a world where nothing is ever really finished. No product is ever done, it’s really a world of permanent iteration. The stakes are too high, we need to better things constantly. We need more than adaptation to a highly fluctuating environment, we need a permanent beta state of mind.
WE NEED TO PRODUCE REALLY EFFICIENT.
Production needs to be really efficient. That of cause means, that one should use the many merits of offshore global production. And that’s good as it is, talent is distributed evenly across the globe and should be used accordingly. The thing that shouldn’t be missed is shortsightedness. Products are really efficient when they perform long term, and then they’re sustainable, too. Therefore, sustainability
WE NEED TO COLLABORATE, COOPERATE AND FIND PARTNERS.
Design without protectionism. A world 2.0 is a common goal, rivalry is it’s hinderance. We need to be open with our ideas – collaborate & co-create. so we need to try not to hide behind IP. Talent and merit should decide who sits on the table, the maker movement teached us much about that. Last, but definitely not least, geography should not play any role.
WE need to EMBRACE LONG TAIL MARKETS.
Chris Anderson showed us the way. Niche market products regularly perform better than blockbuster ones. That means the small man can compete, can stand in a market dominated by large caps. The other way around holds true, too. Large caps often perform better with niche products, too (due to favourable cost income ratios). The time is there for profitable co-operations.
THE TIME HAS COME AGAIN TO PRODUCE PROFOUND AND QUALITATIVE.
The time has come to build sustainable long lasting product (again). The pursuit of products like these implies a higher appreciation for thought-out design and craftsmanship.
